I learned to row a few years ago and love it, totally. I have been itching to get back on the water. Now, my boathouse is opening up, and we will soon be allowed to get back on the water. But I'm scared. I'm in my late 50s, have asthma, and although I'm very fit, I worry about contracting covid19 in a boat. The rowers sit about 2 feet apart, and are breathing very heavily (rowing is a very strenuous sport).
Does anyone know how risky this activity is? It's outdoors, on the water, in the sun, but still, I worry. There is no way to wear a mask while rowing. You would suffocate. Rowing is exhausting as it is, but adding a mask is a recipe for heart failure, I'm pretty sure. Any thoughts most appreciated. Thanks.
